The Sick

Last friday my doctor told me that I have a ‘mono-like’ virus that is attacking my body. Basically for the last week, I haven’t been able to do anything without having to sit and rest (like unloading the dishwasher). I have left work early almost every day. I have slept more hours than I know what to do with. The problem is that I might sleep 8 hours in a row and then wake up feeling like I hadn’t slept a wink. The doctor told me that there is no medicine I can take, that I just have to sleep it off and not do much. I told him that that was impossible for my lifestyle, with two kids under 3 and a small retail business. His words, “Make it happen”. Pretty much around 10:30 every morning I’m ready to collapse. The doctor also told me to expect the virus to linger for 4-6 weeks. “Thank Youuuuuuu!”

I’m leaving now to go take a nap.
