Where the hell have you been?

Wow. It’s been a long time. How are you doing? I feel like we don’t know each other anymore. Casual conversation will just be awkward now. Hmmmm…

The last two months has been completely insane for me at work. Some good things, some bad things…but work nonetheless. I have been trying to initiate and grow my business’s social networking arm and it is pretty much zapping my energy level.

Other things include: (1) trying to fix up a house with three small children in your way, (2) working on a web concept to display my paintings, (3) general hanging out and not thinking about the computer, (4) summer vacation and (5) an insane amount of novel reading. All of this combined means no personal blogging.

I’m kind of bored with this model. I am working on some new ideas to be unveiled soon.

It’s becoming inevitable. My daughter was riding her bike the other day and her tire got stuck in a rut in the street. She tried to wedge it out herself and quickly got frustrated. She easily gets frustrated since she is a perfectionist (like her mother). The following quick exchange took place:

me – “Just get off your bike and move the tire.”

daughter – “I can’t!!!!!”

me – “Honey, you can do it. Just move the tire forward.”

daughter – “I caaannnnnn’t. I CAN’T! I CAAAANNNNNN’T DO IIIIIITTTT!!!!!” (bursting into tears while slamming her hands down on the handlebars)

me – “Can’t never could do anything.”

What? WTF?! That just came out of my mouth? Are you serious? Can’t never could do anything? I don’t believe it. I know that I swore to myself as a kid that I would never say that to my child when I grew up.

It’s official. I have offically reached my peak as a father, and am now crashing downward into an oblivion! Awesome.

Q: If you received a bonus of $100,000 and was asked to give 50% of it back a few days later, what would you do?

“My second wife and I tried to rekindle the flame, so we bought a waterbed. On the first night, her side froze.”
“Our family dog growing up had only three legs. We named her Tripod. Tripod had a hard life. Every time she would go to the bathroom, she’d just fall over. After she passed away, we adopted a dog with no legs. We never did name her. We figured she couldn’t come if she was called anyways. She hated it when it snowed.”
“I’ve tried losing weight by dieting. But I have to go on two diets just to get enough food.”

Bonus joke: “We had a lab once that peed all over the kitchen floor everytime it didn’t get its way. My father would beat it with a newspaper, rub its nose in it and throw it out the back door. That would’ve killed a parakeet.”
